ABOUT US
GF Holdings Inc. is a family owned & operated development company, in the area of Three Rivers, Prince
Edward Island. Formed in the late 1990’s by Garth Ferguson, a local business man, who at the time was
the owner of Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home. Garth, originally from O’Leary P.E.I. bought the
funeral home and moved to the area in 1985.
In the beginning, GF Holdings purchased 2 apartment complexes on the Queens Road, and a vacant lot
near the hospital. This vacant lot was used to build MacIntyre Apartments, an 8 unit seniors housing
complex.
From there, GF bought an old farm acreage of approx. 60 acres on the outskirts of the town of
Montague. At this time, a few acres were cut off and developed into two buildings totaling 15 units
designed for seniors known as Sam Hill Apartments.
A couple more years down the road, GF cut another 15 acres off the land and Sam Hill Estates
Subdivision was created. The subdivision had potential for 30 lots. With the infrastructure and green
space needed for government regulations, the subdivision was then annexed into the town limits.
Although GF has commenced in the development of the subdivision, lots remain available for sale.
The first build in the subdivision was a commercial office building in 2006, which GF still leases today.
The next move was to test the market on new homes in the subdivision and five homes were built and
sold. The market then changed and GF decided to shift its focus to high end rentals and began building
modern town homes and duplexes for rent or sale.
Over the years GF has shown great interest in keeping our community living in beautiful and up to date
homes. Throughout the years GF has bought and renovated many homes around the town, some of
them to be sold and some kept as rental options for our clients. In 2009 “Kim Crescent Seniors Complex”
a 10 unit, low income seniors building was built. This build was a partnership between GF and the
government and is still managed by GF today.
